Go Back?

Hello hello! I'll do this first bit quick cuz now I'm paranoid: REMEMBER TO SAVE YOUR CODE BEFORE ANYTHING. Accidentally clicked off of my browser when writting this blog and lost all of the work I did cuz the site closed.

Anyway! Onto the blog!: I got Linux installed onto my laptop and I love it!

One of the best things I've done to this little Ideapad. Came with Windows 11 originally (I believe) and it ran slow. It was originally (and still is to an extent) an office laptop. Text documents, google searches, etc... Unfortunately, I cannot be confined so simple things like Only using an office laptop for office jobs. Sooooo, I tried to use it to do some simple gaming. Installed GOG, played the original World of Warcraft, and tried to run Minecraft. Only version that was playable (as in it ran better than a 90s power-point presentation) was Beta 1.7.3. Now, I can run alpha 1.0 (maybe it's the release of 1.0, I can't remember) and it's about the same performance wise. I have no clue, It could be a Linux thing or it could simply be a wiping of the approximate 50gb of files I had on this laptop before I wiped it. I'm like 60% sure the laptop came with the laptop- I only downloaded the LibreOffice suite, GOG, and google chrome onto the laptop originally

I hardly added any additional files, maybe 20 or so text documents? None of them could've been more than 2 pages. If that. Anyway.

All that techno Mumbo Jumbo aside, I slept great last night! Felt like more sleep than I've gotten in recent memory. Weather that's the late nights or lack of fatigue when I need it most I can't say. Downed a solid can of Redbull on my way to work this morning and it certainly started my engines. Brain has been running at a comfortable idle since.

We're getting into the colder portion of the year. I moved to the state I'm in July of last year, and I moved to the city I'm in November of last year. Probably one of the two best decisions I've ever made was moving to this state, with the other being moving into my boat. Last night was mildly chilly, but with my electric blanket I didn't notice. In fact, I find a night where I'm using my blanket because it was chilly enough to need it tend to be more comfortable than not. It's the contrast of cold outside vs the very warm inside. Looking forward to the colder portion of the year, as the day I feel need to wear gloves on my way to work is the day I go to the store to buy the supplies for a pot-roast. Imagine a freshly warm pot-roast during a super cold weekend night. A good bowl of the roast, with a cup of tea, and a comfy movie sounds wonderfully delicious.

Speaking of, I almost watched the 1993 Groundhog Day (I think they made a new one but I can't remember what year) last night. Didn't end up doing so but I might do that this evening! Who knows! Anyway. That's all I've got for now. I'm sure I'll have more to say at a later date!
